How We Test Our Alarms

At JC Smoke Alarms LTD, we understand that reliability and confidence are essential when purchasing smoke and heat alarms. That is why every alarm we supply is individually checked and tested before dispatch.

Our aim is to provide customers with a cost-effective way to upgrade or replace existing Aico alarms while maintaining high standards of quality and functionality.

Our Testing Process

Functional Power & Sound Testing

Each alarm is connected to a compatible base and powered correctly to confirm that:

  • the alarm activates correctly
  • the sounder operates as intended
  • buttons and LED indicators function properly
  • the unit responds normally during testing

This allows us to verify that the alarm is operational before dispatch.

Physical Inspection

Every unit is visually inspected for signs of:

  • cracks or casing damage
  • damaged terminals or connectors
  • signs of tampering
  • excessive contamination or discolouration
  • general physical defects that may affect usability

Units that do not meet our standards are not supplied.

AudioLINK Diagnostics Checks

Where compatible, alarms are also checked using Aico AudioLINK diagnostics technology.

This diagnostic process allows us to review performance information from the alarm and helps confirm that the unit is functioning correctly prior to sale.

Final Preparation

After testing and inspection:

  • alarms are externally cleaned
  • units are securely packaged for transit
  • orders are prepared for dispatch

Genuine Aico Products

All alarms sold by JC Smoke Alarms LTD are genuine Aico products.

We do not alter, refurbish, or modify the alarms internally in any way. Our alarms are supplied as tested pre-owned units only.
